Cherthala is a Taluk and a municipality in Alappuzha district in the state of Kerala, India. Infopark has acquired 66.60 acres of land at Pallipuram for setting up the IT park. Developments are based on a private participation model. As on date Infopark at Cherthala has been granted formal approval for Special Economic Zone status by the BoA, Ministry of Commerce.

Infopark at Ambalapuzha

Ambalapuzha located in Alappuzha district in the state of Kerala, has been chosen as the second location for setting up of IT park after Cherthala. It is 72km from Cochin and 18 km from Alleppey on the Alleppey-to-Trivandrum section of National Highway 47 Road Route and Railway Route. Infopark has acquired 33.21 acres of land at Purakkad, Ambalapuzha Taluk for setting up the IT park. Developments are based on a private participation model similar to the proposed one at Cherthala. The new Infopark at Ambalapuzha has also been granted formal approval for Special Economic Zone status by the BoA, Ministry of Commerce.

Smart City stuck on land issue

Smart City Kochi, a joint venture between Tecom of Dubai and the Kerala government, has announced temporary closure of its office at Kochi with immediate effect.Chief executive officer of the project Fareed Abdulrahman on Tuesday said the office fit-out at Josh Towers and the recruitment of additional human resources were on hold till the freehold issue is resolved. Smart City Kochi wants SEZ status without strings

The Rs.15-billion ($375-million) IT park, Smart City Kochi, will request the state government to see that it gets special economic zone (SEZ) status without any strings. Cabinet set to approve SmartCity lease pact

The Cabinet meeting, slated for December 31, will approve the draft of the lease agreement of the proposed SmartCity Kochi, said Fisheries Minister S. Sarma, who is also the chairman of the company. Software exports from Kerala grows 43 percent

While India’s overall software exports have slowed down on account of the global slowdown, those from Kerala grew 43.41 percent till February-end, fetching a revenue of Rs.2,300 crore.

Technopark Trivandrum to get more investment

The technology destination in the Kerala capital is to see more investment soon as the Technopark is all set to leap frog into a Phase-III expansion, starting Thursday.

The Phase-III of the Thiruvananthapuram Technopark would involve private participation and is being mulled over as a special economic zone in the IT and ITeS space.
