The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India's leading recognized technical professional society. Established in 1953, IETE has now over 45,000 members spread all over India and in a few countries abroad. IETE through its members provides leadership in a number of scientific and technical areas of direct importance to national development and economy. The basic aims and objectives of IETE are to promote the general advancement of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology and allied subjects & application of these (referred to as the Discipline henceforth) and to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas on these subjects amongst IETE members.
