Institute of Electrical
and Electronics Engineers [IEEE] Kerala Chapter:
Through its members, the IEEE is a leading authority
in technical areas ranging from computer engineering,
biomedical technology and telecommunications, to electric
power, aerospace and consumer electronics, among others.
IEEE activities in Kerala have reached
its 27th year. Kerala became a full Section in 1983.
The section has been very active since its formation.
It has been holding a national or international seminar
every year since 1984. As of January 2002, Kerala Section
has around 1200 members including student members. The
section has a Computer Chapter, a Power-engineering
Chapter and a joint Chapter on Industry
Applications & Industrial Electronics.
Student branches have been established in 11 Engineering
Colleges.
