The project aims at imparting computer education
to the high school students for the qualitative improvement
in the conventional learning systems and also to equip
teachers to use computers as an educational tool.
- Stake holders are the school management, teachers,
students and the local community
- Currently being implemented in all the High schools
(916 Govt.+1412 Aided+ 338 unaided High school- Total
2666) of the State of Kerala
- 2,650 modern computer labs in high schools; 99 %
of the State high schools have a computer lab of their
own
- Over 25,000 computers in high schools as against
2074 before the commencement of the project
- 86 private training Institutions, through out the
36 educational districts of the State to provide continuous
training to teachers
- 30,573 High school teachers out of the total 53369
have already been given basic training
- IT prescribed as a compulsory subject from std 1
till std X. IT subject -both theory and practicals
- have been included in the public examination of
standard X (SSLC)
- Over 16 lakh students have been covered
- Computerisation of Directorate of Public Instruction
(DPI) and at least one DDE office and one DEO office
in the next 6 months
- Web based application for updating school details
- Supply chain management for managing the text book
inventory, updating of SSLC database and messaging
system between 51 offices
