Outsource Partners opening service centre in Kochi
THE US-based Outsource Partners International,
Inc (OPI) has announced the opening of its BPO service
centre in Kochi.
The 137,000-sq-ft centre, located in the Leela Info
Park at Kakkanad, has a capacity to accommodate 2,000
associates. Addressing a press meet, Mr Kishore Mirchandani,
President and CEO of OPI's Indian operations said that
Kochi was selected following a search that included
quite a few Indian locations.
"We are optimistic about the skills sets it has
to offer. Bright talented people will now have the opportunity
to find rewarding jobs and build an exciting career
without having to leave their hometown," he said.
The establishment of the facility at Kochi would enable
the company to take advantage of competitive labour
and infrastructure costs as against those of Bangalore
and other large cities, he added.
The State Chief Minister, Mr Ommen Chandy, will inaugurate
the new centre at Kochi on Thursday.
Earlier this year, OPI launched a preliminary facility
in Kochi with a capacity of 64 seats. It also has a
shared service centre in Bangalore with a capacity to
accommodate more than 600 associates.
According to Mr Mirchandani, the company has chalked
out aggressive expansion plans in the State in the near
future and is also planning to set up another centre
in Thiruvananthapuram.
OPI, he said, has more than 850 associates operating through
seven offices in the US and service centres in Bangalore
and Kochi.
